Overview 2000 Chevrolet C2500 Base
A lot has been said about the Chevrolet C2500 for 2000. Performance
The C2500 Base is equipped with a General Motors 5.7 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Vortec engine is mated to a General Motors 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Chevrolet.
The fuel system for the 2000 C2500 is a traditional Central SFI, running on CNG fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 27.00 gallons.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $20,240 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $18,317. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Standard Cab Pickup.
The standard warranty period for the C2500 is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 36 months or 36,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the standard cab pickup market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.
Fuel Efficiency
The C2500 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of sixteen in-city driving and twenty one when it came to long-distance. Being a cng-powered hybrid truck, this was subpar.
Conclusion
There are several reasons why the Chevrolet C2500 Base sold well in 2000. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Chevrolet, specifically a C2500.
