First Impressions 1999 Chevrolet C3500 Base
The Chevrolet C3500 is a 2-door truck available at your Chevrolet dealer. The C3500 came in two configurations: LS and Base. The Base configuration is powered by the 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 20 highway miles and 16 city. The C3500 competes in the Standard Cab Pickup market segment, in direct competition with Lexus.

Standard equipment in the C3500 for 1998 and 1999 includes the 5.7 liter engine by General Motors, weighing in at 8 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 4-speed Automatic Transmission puts the power of the Vortec engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the C3500.
The C3500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 2-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The truck uses coil and leaf springs front and rear respectively.

The C3500 is 189.80 inches long, 77.50 inches wide, and 75.20 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 111.20 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $22,125 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $20,023. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Standard Cab Pickup.
Fuel Efficiency
The fuel system for the 1999 C3500 is a Central SFI system, running on CNG . The fuel is regulated by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.
The C3500 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of sixteen in-city driving and twenty when it came to highway driving. Being a cng-powered green truck, this was within normal parameters.
