The Chevrolet C2500 Base for 1999

There have been several award-winning trucks from Chevrolet over the years, including the Chevrolet C2500 of 1999. There are two trim levels to the C2500, including Base and LS. The Base version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 1998 the popular 5.7 liter Vortec has made this a popular choice for standard cab pickup buyers nationwide.

1999 Chevrolet C2500 Base Specs

Standard equipment in the C2500 for 1998 and 1999 includes the 5.7 liter engine by General Motors, weighing in at 8 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 4-speed Automatic Transmission puts the power of the Vortec engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the C2500.

The fuel system for the 1999 C2500 is a traditional Central SFI, running on CNG fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 25.00 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The C2500 comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 2-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. The truck uses coil front springs and leaf in the rear.

The C2500 is 189.80 inches long, 77.50 inches wide, and 75.20 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 111.20 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The listed retail price in 1999 (MSRP) was $22,125, with a dealer invoice cost of $20,023. This price is in line with the industry average price for a two-door Standard Cab Pickup.

There is a 36,000 mile, 36 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 36,000/36 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

Fuel Efficiency

The C2500 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of sixteen in-city driving and twenty when it came to highway driving. Being a cng-powered green truck, this was within normal parameters.

The 1999 model year was very successful for the Chevrolet C2500. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
