There's been a lot of talk about the Ford Ranger for 1998. As a leading truck in the standard cab pickup market the Ranger (and in this case specically the EV version) has maintained a high standard. The 2-door Ranger is especially appealing to broad audience, making it a perfect truck to help Ford as a brand in general.
The restyled Ranger EV is equipped with a Siemens unrated-liter 6-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 12 valves. The engine is paired with a N/A 4-speed transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

The two-door truck with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Ford. There is strong competition from vehicles from Toyota.
