The Toyota Camry Hybrid for 2009

Toyota Camry

The restyled Camry Hybrid is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a N/A four-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2008 version.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Camry comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The Camry is 189.20 inches long, 71.70 inches wide, and 57.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 109.30 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

There is a 36,000 mile, 36 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 60,000/60 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $19,770 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $18,088. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2009 Camry is a traditional SFI, running on ELECTRIC/GAS fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 18.50 gallons.

The Camry Hybrid received a miles-per-gallon rating of twenty one in-city driving and thirty one when it came to highway driving. Being a electric/gas-powered green car, this was exceptional.

We Think...

The 2009 model year was telling year for the Toyota Camry. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Hybrid version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
