First Impressions 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited

A high point in the sport utility market is the Toyota Highlander. In 2008 Toyota rolled out an upgraded version of the Highlander with five versions: Hybrid, Hybrid Limited, Base, and Sport. Sales for the Highlander, especially the Highlander Hybrid Limited, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited Specs
The restyled Highlander Hybrid Limited is equipped with a 3.3-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a N/A four-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2007 version.
The fuel system for the 2008 Highlander is a SFI system, running on ELECTRIC/GAS . The fuel is regulated by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Highlander uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

There’s no doubt that Toyota is up to it’s old tricks with the Highlander? I’m hoping next year’s example is improved.
