The Chevrolet Express 1500 Base for 2008
There have been several award-winning vans from Chevrolet over the years, including the Chevrolet Express 1500 of 2008. There are three trim levels to the Express 1500, including Base, LS, and LT. 2008 Chevrolet Express 1500 Base Specs
The Express 1500 Base is equipped with a General Motors 5.3 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Vortec engine is mated to a General Motors 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Chevrolet.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Express 1500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by torsion bar front springs and leaf in the rear.
The fuel system for the 2008 Express 1500 is a SFI design, using FLEX fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 31.00 gallons.

In 2007 and 2008 the Express 1500 Base was availble in the exterior colors of Black, Dark Blue Metallic, Dark Green Metallic, Graystone Metallic, Sandstone Metallic, Silver Birch Metallic, Sport Red Metallic, Summit White, and Victory Red. Additional options were available as special orders from the factory.
