The Ford F-150 is a 4-door truck available at your Ford dealer. The F-150 came in seven configurations: FX4, King Ranch, Lariat, Platinum, STX, XL, and XLT. The Lariat configuration is powered by the 5.4-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 17 city. The F-150 competes in the Crew Cab Pickup market segment, in direct competition with Honda.

Standard equipment in the F-150 for 2008 and 2009 includes the 5.4 liter engine by Ford, weighing in at 8 cylinders and twenty four valves. A 6-speed Automatic Transmission puts the power of the Triton engine to the pavement. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Crew Cab Pickup arena.

The F-150 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The truck uses coil and leaf springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 2009 F-150 is a SFI design, using FLEX fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

The F-150 Lariat received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty three when it came to highway driving. Being a flex-powered green truck, this was exceptional.

The 2009 model year was telling year for the Ford F-150. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Lariat version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
