Ford F-250 Engine Specs
The restyled F-250 Special is equipped with a 4.9-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The engine is mated to a Ford four-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1995 version.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The F-250 uses power-assisted brakes, with 2-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by leaf front springs and leaf in the rear.
The fuel system for the 1996 F-250 is a EFI system, running on BI-FUEL . The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The 34.70-gallon tank provides the fuel storage for longer trips.
