Buyers of the Ford Expedition are aware of the reputation of the truck they are purchasing. The Expedition has been one of the premier vehicles of the Ford line for years. It is considered an institution of a truck and the 2009 model is no exception. The Ford Expedition falls into the sport utility for the family category. People who purchase the Expedition have been doing so for the last few generations in a family. It is a constant that only gets better with age.

Performance

The Expedition EL Eddie Bauer is equipped with a Ford 5.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The Triton engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

The fuel system for the 2009 Expedition is a traditional SFI, running on FLEX fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Expedition has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The truck uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.
