In 2009 Ford rolled out an upgraded version of the Expedition with eight versions: Eddie Bauer, King Ranch, Limited, XLT, EL Eddie Bauer, EL King Ranch, EL Limited, and EL XLT. Sales for the Expedition, especially the Expedition EL Limited, were brisk during 2009 and 2010. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

2009 Ford Expedition EL Limited Specs

The Expedition EL Limited is equipped with a Ford 5.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The Triton engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Expedition comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The truck uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 2009 Expedition is a SFI design, using FLEX fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

What We Think of the Ford Expedition

The 2008 model began the promise of the Ford Expedition. The 2009 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Ford hopes that the Expedition EL Limited will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
