The 2009 Expedition is an important vehicle to Ford for the sport utility market segment. The King Ranch is a member of a series of eight trim levels for the Expedition which include Eddie Bauer, King Ranch, Limited, XLT, EL Eddie Bauer, EL King Ranch, EL Limited, and EL XLT. The four-door truck with its four-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Ford. There is strong competition from vehicles from Honda.

2009 Ford Expedition King Ranch Specs

The restyled Expedition King Ranch is equipped with a 5.4-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The Triton engine is mated to a ZF six-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2008 version.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Expedition comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The truck uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 2009 Expedition is a SFI system, running on FLEX . The fuel is regulated by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.
