A Better 2005′s Model: The Ford Escape for 2006

The Ford Escape is a 4-door truck available at your Ford dealer. The Escape came in four configurations: Hybrid, Limited, XLS, and XLT. The Hybrid configuration is powered by the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 26 highway miles and 22 city. The Escape competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Lexus.
Ford Escape Engine Specs
Standard equipment in the Escape for 2005 and 2006 includes the 2.3 liter engine by Ford, weighing in at 4 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 4-speed Automatic CVT Transaxle puts the power of the Duratec engine to the pavement. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Sport Utility arena.
The Escape uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The truck uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The 2006 Escape gets 26 miles/gallon on the highway and only 22 in the city. This is subpar for a sport utility truck.
In 2005 and 2006 the Escape Hybrid was availble in the exterior colors of Black, Blazing Copper Metallic, Dark Shadow Gray Metallic, Dark Stone, Gold Ash Metallic, Norsea Blue Metallic, Oxford White, Red Fire Metallic, Silver Metallic, Sonic Blue Metallic, and Titanium Green Metallic. Additional options were available as special orders from the factory.
We Think...
There are several reasons why the Ford Escape Hybrid sold well in 2006. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Ford, specifically a Escape.
