The Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor for 2005

There have been several award-winning cars from Ford over the years, including the Ford Crown Victoria of 2005. There are six trim levels to the Crown Victoria, including Base, LX, Police Interceptor, Special Edition, and LX Sport. The Police Interceptor version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2004 the popular 4.6 liter has made this a popular choice for sedan buyers nationwide.
Under the Hood
The restyled Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is equipped with a 4.6-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a Ford four-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2004 version.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Crown Victoria comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with Non-ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.
Statistics
The Crown Victoria is 212.00 inches long, 77.30 inches wide, and 56.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 114.70 inches. It is able to seat 6 comfortably.
The listed retail price in 2005 (MSRP) was $24,430, with a dealer invoice cost of $22,926. This price is on target the industry average price for a four-door Sedan.
Fuel Efficiency
The fuel system for the 2005 Crown Victoria is a traditional SFI, running on CNG fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 19.00 gallons.
The Crown Victoria Police Interceptor received a miles-per-gallon rating of eighteen in-city driving and twenty five when it came to highway driving. Being a cng-powered green car, this was within normal parameters.
What We Think of the Ford Crown Victoria
The 2005 model year was very successful for the Ford Crown Victoria. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Police Interceptor version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
