The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid for 2008

Chevrolet Tahoe

In 2008 Chevrolet released the Tahoe Hybrid to the truck-buying market. The Tahoe came in four configurations: Hybrid, LS, LT, and LTZ. The Hybrid configuration is powered by the 6.0-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 20 - 21 highway miles and 15 - 16 city. The Tahoe competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Honda.

Chevrolet Tahoe Engine Specs

The Tahoe Hybrid is equipped with a General Motors 6.0 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Vortec engine is mated to a General Motors 4-speed Transmission. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Sport Utility arena.

The Tahoe uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The truck uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 2008 Tahoe is a traditional SFI, running on ELECTRIC/GAS fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 26.00 gallons.

Vehicle Statistics

The Tahoe is 202.00 inches long, 79.00 inches wide, and 76.90 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 116.00 inches. It is able to seat 6 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Tahoe is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 60 months or 100,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the sport utility market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.

The listed retail price in 2008 (MSRP) was $34,630, with an invoice cost of $31,686. This price is above average of the industry average price for a four-door Sport Utility.

Fuel Efficiency

Conclusion
