The 2004 Crown Victoria is an important vehicle to Ford for the sedan market segment. The Base is a member of a series of four trim levels for the Crown Victoria which include Base, LX, LX Sport, and Police Interceptor. The four-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Ford. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.

Performance

The Crown Victoria Base is equipped with a Ford 4.6 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a Ford 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Crown Victoria has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Fuel is handled for the Crown Victoria is a SFI design, running on CNG fuel. The CNG is handled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 19.00 gallons.

The Crown Victoria is 212.00 inches long, 78.20 inches wide, and 58.30 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 114.70 inches. It is able to seat 6 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Crown Victoria is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the sedan market.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $24,085 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $22,559. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The Crown Victoria Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty five when it came to long-distance. Being a cng-powered green car, this was subpar.

The vehicle is available in Arizona Beige Metallic, Black, Dark Blue Pearl, Dark Toreador Red Metallic, Light Ice Blue Metallic, Midnight Gray Metallic, Silver Birch Metallic, Spruce Green Metallic, and Vibrant White.
