Buyers of the Ford E-350 are aware of the reputation of the van they are purchasing. The E-350 has been one of the premier vehicles of the Ford line for years. Performance

The E-350 Base is equipped with a Ford 5.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Triton engine is mated to a Ford 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

The fuel system for the 2003 E-350 is a traditional SFI, running on CNG fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 19.00 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The E-350 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The van uses coil front springs and leaf in the rear.

The dimensions of the E-350 Base are 78.20 inches wide by 212.00 inches long. It sits a comfortable 56.80 inches off the ground. It seats a standard six passengers, with 2 doors. The wheelbase of 114.70 allows for limited leg room for the backseat passengers.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $27,780 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $25,412. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Cutaway Van.

The standard warranty period for the E-350 is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the cutaway van market.

Fuel Efficiency

The E-350 Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of eighteen in-city driving and twenty six when it came to long-distance. Being a cng-powered hybrid van, this was subpar.

The 2003 model year was unsuccessful for the Ford E-350. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..
