In 2007 Chevrolet released the Monte Carlo LS to the car-buying market. The Monte Carlo came in three configurations: LS, LT, and SS. The LS configuration is powered by the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 31 highway miles and 21 city. The Monte Carlo competes in the Sedan market segment, in direct competition with Kia.

The 2007 F-150 is an important vehicle to Ford for the crew cab pickup market segment. The King Ranch is a member of a series of eight trim levels for the F-150 which include FX4, Lariat, STX, XL, XLT, FX2, Harley-Davidson Edition, and King Ranch. The four-door truck with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Ford. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.
