Ford has been blessed with many award-winning designs, including the Ford F-150 of 2006. There are seven trim levels to the F-150, including FX4, Lariat, STX, XL, XLT, Harley-Davidson Edition, and King Ranch. The Harley-Davidson Edition version is one of the more popular options. Like in 2005 the popular 5.4 liter Triton has made this a popular choice for extended cab pickup buyers across the country.

A high point in the standard cab pickup market is the Ford F-150. In 1996 Ford rolled out an upgraded version of the F-150 with four versions: Special, XL, XLT, and Eddie Bauer. Sales for the F-150, especially the F-150 XL, were brisk during 1996 and 1997. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the increased interest.

The F-150 FX4 is equipped with a Ford 5.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The Triton engine is mated to a Ford 4-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ford.

The 4-door F-150 is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect truck to help Ford as a brand in general.
