When you think of the "Ford Escape" what will usually come to mind for Ford enthusiasts is quality, stability and lots of history. The Escape has been one of the premier vehicles of the Ford line for over ten years. It is an important truck and the 2006 model is no exception. The Ford Escape falls into the sport utility for the family category.
There have been several award-winning trucks from Ford over the years, including the Ford Escape of 2007. There are four trim levels to the Escape, including Hybrid, Limited, XLS, and XLT. The Hybrid version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2006 the popular 2.3 liter Duratec has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers across the country.
One of the staples of the Sport Utility segment is the Ford Escape. In the previous model year released a brand new version of the Escape with four versions: Hybrid, Limited, XLS, and XLT. Sales for the Escape, especially the Escape Hybrid, were brisk during 2007 and 2008. The improved vehicle quality and the classic styling were responsible for the sales boost.
In 2005 Ford released the Escape Hybrid to the truck-buying market. The Escape came in six configurations: Limited, XLS, XLT, XLT Sport, XLT No Boundaries, and Hybrid. The Hybrid configuration is powered by the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 25 highway miles and 22 city. The Escape competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Toyota.
