The Hybrid version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2006 the popular 2.3 liter Duratec has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers across the country.

One of the staples of the Sport Utility segment is the Ford Escape. In the previous model year released a brand new version of the Escape with four versions: Hybrid, Limited, XLS, and XLT. Sales for the Escape, especially the Escape Hybrid, were brisk during 2007 and 2008. The improved vehicle quality and the classic styling were responsible for the sales boost.

Ford Escape

In 2005 Ford released the Escape Hybrid to the truck-buying market. The Escape came in six configurations: Limited, XLS, XLT, XLT Sport, XLT No Boundaries, and Hybrid. The Hybrid configuration is powered by the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 25 highway miles and 22 city. The Escape competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Toyota.
